Do you want to organise a meeting in an inspiring place? Have you ever thought of the Sufi Temple? Prominently situated on a dune top, with a lovely view of the dunes of Katwijk and the North Sea.
The temple is a unique architectonical building and is listed in the municipal list of monuments. The Sufi Temple not only offers a remarkable location for meetings like congresses or retreats of one or more days. The inside of the building also radiates a spiritual atmosphere that offers a memorable experience to every meeting.
If your activity fits the atmosphere of love, harmony and beauty that we cherish, you can rent the Temple and if necessary the Wakil house that belongs to it, which has modest facilities for lunch and dinner.
Facilities
The Temple hall is available for rent (the hall measures 13 by 13 meter and has a capacity for 100 persons max). The chapel is next to the hall is also available (max 10 persons) and so is the Wakil house with facilities for lunch and dinner. The Wakil house with its outside terrace has a capacity for 70 persons. The three accomodations can be rented separately.
The pleasant big hall of the Temple with its excellent acoustical qualities and sound and light equipment, is very suited to musical performances, debates and congresses.
If the weather is fine activities can be done outside in the open air amphitheatre, made in a dune valley. The spacious grounds also offer lots of space and privacy for individual meditative practices.
Included in the hiring price are the use of wifi, beamer, portable microphones and flip over. The catering facilities in the wakil house are available, but catering is not provided.

Reachability and overnight stays
It is not possible to spend the night on the grounds, but Katwijk offers ample opportunities in all price classes, within walking distance of the Temple. Next to the Temple there is a campsite that is open in summer.

Guided tours
Guided tours are on offer with a visit to the dune valley and an explanation about Sufism and the Universal Worship services that are held in the Temple. It is advisable to apply timely, because a volunteer has to be found to conduct the tour. Mostly after a Worship service an explanation about the temple and the worship service can also be provided.
